Park Falls Public Library is a municipal public library established and funded under Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 43 by the City of Park Falls, Wisconsn. Additional funds are received as reimbursements from Price County through the Price County Library Service, and from adjoining counties for service to their residents.
The Library Board of Trustees approves policies, develops a budget, controls expenditures, makes personnel decisions, and hires a Library Director to administer the operation and services of the library. The Board is appointed by the Mayor of Park Falls, each member serving a three year term. One additonal member is appointed by the Chair of the Price County Board of Supervisors. The specific compostion of the Board, and it's legal powers are governed by Wisconsin statute.
The Library Board meets regularly at 5:30 pm on the second Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September, November. The Board is a governmental unit and all meetings are open to the public. Meetings follow Wisconsin Open Meetings requirements.
